Top 5 World Problems

These are the top 5 problems in order of most pressing to least.

1. Poverty
-Poverty is a widespread issue in this world and there is no quick fix in the eyes of most. It affects just about every country yet no one can fix it. Perhaps, more structured tax plans, technological changes and charitable donations could help curb poverty in coming years.

2. Religious Intolerance
-This is perhaps the biggest issue contributing to country disputes and war these days. As a world, we need to learn to just accept everyone's religions and to not discriminate, hate and act violently based on the difference itself. Although easier said than done, it is necessary for the longevity of this world and it's inhabitants.

3. Global Political Instability
-Democracy is not something that is widespread although it should be. There are too many countries with economic self interests to maintain a peaceful world order. We need to set aside economic differences in order to benefit the sustainable growth of all the countries on this earth itself.

4. Water crises
-Water is becoming more of a commodity every day as we can see very evidently in the case of California itself. We need to find a sustainable way to filter water maybe from even the ocean in order to increase the worlds water supply and allow us to live the prosperous lives we all strive for.

5. Climate change Adaptation
-As a world we struggle with how to effectively adapt to change. Climate being one of the biggest changes in my generation i feel we need a environmentally sustainable way to grow and live prosperously. I feel as if the meeting of the countries that recently took place was a step in the right direction but a world council of sorts i think should be formed to address these issues.

If I were to rank the solutions based on practicality and likeliness of implementation it would be:

1. Poverty

2. Water Crises

3. Climate Change Adaptation

4. Global Political Instability

5. Religious Intolerance

Of course, there is no simple fix to any of these problems. This is just the order that i feel the problems will be solved in. With Religious tolerance, that's a problem that plagues all mankind and i'm not sure if bias and prejudice will ever go away but we can for sure at least try.

  1. Hey Mitch!
I found your post on the Top 5 World Problems very interesting. My top 5 differed from yours slightly, but covers pretty much the same issues. For example, my number 1 problem was World Hunger while yours was poverty. I believe that these are both huge issues and they go hand in hand. I agree that spreading awareness and charitable donations are some of the best ways to fix this. I also agree that Global political instability is a huge issue as it causes some of our world’s biggest problems. Government Corruption was my 5th biggest world problem. I also agree that poverty or in my case, World Hunger is the easiest solution to implement, because we live on a planet that has so many resources and there is more than enough to go around. I liked reading your post, thanks for sharing!

  2. Hey Mitch,
I think your top 5 problems are very important and we share some of the same problems, like climate change and poverty. However, I don't agree with how you said poverty would be the easiest solution to fix. Poverty to me seems too difficult to fix and is placed on the lower end of my solutions list. Also, crises should be spelled crisis.

  3. Great List Mitch!

I really enjoyed reading your list, and being able to identify with a lot of the problems you presented. Although I didn't necessarily list Poverty as my number 1 problem, I can now understand why so many people view it as such. I can also understand why the water crisis is in your list, because it is such an essential part of our daily life. Without it, none of us would be here.

I recommend you take a look at my list if you get a chance:

  4. Hello Mitch!

I really enjoyed reading your post! I also wanted to add that I enjoy your blog very much! I found it funny that we had similar world problems in our posts, but I don't know if poverty would be the easiest problem to fix, perhaps in my opinion religious intolerance would be easier to fix because that has more to do with communication towards young children and adults. I believe that the water crisis would be one of the hardest things to solve because it is a very expensive issue, unfortunately.

I loved your post! Check out my blog is you can!
